KRAJICEK DROPS SAMPRAS IN GERMANY

Pete Sampras called it "hit-and-miss tennis." Unfortunately for the No. 1 player in the world, it was Richard Krajicek who hit and Sampras who missed.

The big-serving Dutchman swept past the American, 6-4, 6-4, to reach the quarterfinals of the Eurocard Open in Stuttgart, Germany.

Krajicek will play Magnus Larsson in the quarterfinals. Larsson beat Fabrice Santoro, 6-3, 7-5.

No. 3 Patrick Rafter is the only top-eight seed left in the $2.05 million tournament. The U.S. Open champion had to rally to beat German qualifier David Prinosil, 3-6, 6-2, 6-1.
