A Niagara Falls man accused of sexually assaulting a former girlfriend was cleared of rape and sexual abuse charges but convicted of misdemeanor counts Thursday after a County Court jury
deliberated about five hours.

Anthony E. Parmer, 32, of 1332 Ashland Ave. was found guilty of third-degree assault and second-degree criminal contempt. He faces sentencing Nov. 20 by County Judge Amy J. Fricano, who presided at the four-day trial.

He was indicted May 22 over April 15 incidents in Niagara Falls.
