EDEN SEARCH FOR PRINCIPAL ATTRACTS 21 APPLICANTS

The search for a new principal at Eden Junior-Senior High School has attracted 21 applicants for the job that the School Board hopes to fill by the second semester of school. The application deadline was earlier this month.

Superintendent Thomas Christopher said that applicants' references are being checked and preliminary interviews conducted. Three separate committees -- including teachers, school administrators and three parents from the high school's shared decision-making team and some board trustees -- will interview the finalists for the job. The salary range for the position is between $65,000 and $75,000, depending on
experience.

The job vacancy was created when former principal Carl Militello left in late August to become superintendent of the Wellsville School District.
