BASKETBALL PLAYERS REINSTATED AT NIAGARA

Three basketball players were reinstated to the Niagara University team by head coach Jack Armstrong on Thursday.

Calvin Murphy Jr., Jeremiah Johnson and Jermaine Young were suspended last month for their role in a weekend bar fight in which another Niagara student was injured.

The three players will not participate in Niagara's two exhibition games, but they will be in uniform for the season-opener on Nov. 25 against Bucknell.

"I think that the three have learned a valuable lesson from this ordeal," Armstrong said in a prepared statement. "It's time to put this situation behind us and move forward with our season."

Young plays center, while Murphy and Jackson are point guards. Young is a senior, Murphy is a sophomore, and Jackson is a junior.
