BANDITS GOALIE PLEADS GUILTY IN NAVAL PARK CASE

Buffalo Bandits goalie Patrick O'Toole and another Canadian pleaded guilty today to non-criminal trespass charges for an incident at the Buffalo and Erie County Naval and Military Park last March when an American flag was torn down during a celebration of the Bandits' season.

O'Toole, 25, and Peter Dunits, 23, were fined $45 for the offense under a plea agreement with prosecutors.

City Judge Michael F. Pietruszka also granted them conditional discharges, sparing them further punishment, and ordered both to stay out of the Naval Park.

Prosecutors and defense attorneys told the judge another unidentified Canadian who had joined the two in the park tore down and defaced the flag.
