A loaded, stolen 9mm handgun was recovered Wednesday night as Central District detectives arrested three persons on the West Side.
Detectives Timothy McDonald and Edward Cotter went to 526 Busti Ave. to check on a man wanted on an arrest warrant, according to police reports. There, they said they saw Carlos J. Rosa, 20, of Barthel Street pull a handgun from his waistband and run into the back room of a store, where the gun allegedly was tossed into a stockpile of beer bottles.
The gun was loaded with 14 rounds, and a clip containing 16 rounds was found on Rosa, according to police. The weapon was reported stolen to the Erie, Pa., Police Department in June.
Rosa was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and stolen property, obstructing governmental administration and harassment.
Two others accused of trying to thwart Rosa's arrest also were taken into custody. Heriberto P. Gonzalez, 49, of Busti Avenue was charged with obstructing governmental administration and harassment, and Reina T. DelValle, 19, of Barthel Street was charged with harassment.
