Donald C. Browne, a Moog Inc. retiree active in the church and community, died Wednesday (Oct. 22, 1997) in his Cottage Court home. He was 83.
A native of Toronto, Browne was a 1932 graduate of Avon High School and also worked at Union Carbide Corp. in Niagara Falls.
He was employed as a tester at Moog for 35 years, retiring in 1979. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Warsaw, where he taught Sunday school for several years and sang in its choir.
An accomplished saxophone player, Browne played with area bands, including the Quiet Tones.
Survivors include his wife of almost 60 years, the former Frances Broderick; a son, Donald of Rochester; a daughter, Anne Elizabeth Browne of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and a grandson.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church of Warsaw.
