Warren G. wants to regulate who uses the letter "g."

The rapper, whose real name is Warren Griffin III, has filed a federal trademark infringement lawsuit against country star Garth Brooks over the use of a stylized, lower-case "g."

He claims Brooks used the symbol during his latest tour. The problem, the rapper said, is that he has used a similar "g" for years on his merchandise and album covers.

Russell Jones, a lawyer for Brooks, said the claim is "without merit."
