Charifa Lee, 15, of 432 10th St., Tuesday was sent to a juvenile detention facility in Monroe County in lieu of $50,000 bail after her arrest on a warrant in connection with a Saturday attack on a Falls Street woman and her 3-year-old daughter.
Ms. Lee was charged with second-degree attempted murder as an adult, Angela Munn-Dobrasz, police public information officer, said. She is accused of pulling up in a car and firing four shots from a handgun at Jakia Walker, 22, of Falls Street, and her daughter at 1:40 p.m. Saturday in the 1900 block of 19th Street, narrowly missing Ms. Walker and her daughter.
James Schmahl, 17, of 1628 Falls St., who reportedly arrived in the car with Ms. Lee, was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment at 3 p.m. Saturday, police said.
Ms. Lee was arrested on a warrant signed by City Judge Robert M. Restaino, who set bail.
