GATCO EXEC ATTENDING WHITE HOUSE SUMMIT

Today's White House summit on exports was to include at least one Buffalo-area small business exporter: Great American Tool Co. President John Anthon.

Anthon, founder of the eight-year-old knife and tool sharpener manufacturer, has been a member of the U.S. Department of Commerce District Export Council for 13 years and represents the size of exporter President Clinton is looking to for help in selling his "fast-track" exporting process.

GATCO, located on Hertel Avenue, has grown in eight years from a single employee to more than 36, from a $24,000 investment to a multimillion dollar company, from no export sales to 18 percent, with an eye on 25 percent of total sales within three years.
