The News has committed a public service by putting George Will's column asking for a more harshly judgmental society on the same page as the spate of comments about Tom Toles' cartoon -- a commentary on the response to the deaths of Princess Diana and Mother Teresa.
Like his multimillionaire crony Cal Thomas, Will repeatedly condemns any values that deviate from the harsh "conservative" ones that increasingly dominate the mass media.
With equal self-righteousness, many of the readers condemn Toles for expressing values that they apparently share in a way too witty for them to understand.
Hey, let's hear it for "conservative" criticism. Down with all this "love your neighbor" stuff! Who was it that said that, anyway?
