John J. Mineo Jr., 56, a disabled Vietnam War veteran, died unexpectedly Saturday (Oct. 18, 1997) in his Old Beattie Road home.
A native of Buffalo, Mineo served with the Air Force from 1959 to 1965.
He was a member of Post 2535, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Disabled American Veterans. He also was a fourth-degree member of Council 319, Knights of Columbus, and a member Lock City Lodge 617, Loyal Order of Moose, and Lodge 41, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
Survivors include a son, Michael of Greenville, Del.; a daughter, Sabrina M. O'Connell of Painted Post; his mother, Rose Smiraglia Mineo of Port Charlotte, Fla.; two brothers, Robert of Dansville and Dennis of Tampa, Fla.; two sisters, Nancy of Phoenix and Roselee Beardsley of Tampa; and a granddaughter.
A memorial service will be scheduled.
