An investors fair that will feature representatives from 23 companies, as well as demonstrations of investment software, will be held from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Nov. 1 at the Buffalo Convention Center.
The fair, which is sponsored by a local investment club group, the Western New York Council of the National Association of Investors Corp., will include 45-minute presentations from up to five of the companies, including AFLAC Inc., Diebold Inc., Moog Inc. and National City Corp.
In addition, 18 other companies will have representatives at the fair to meet with investors and answer questions about their firm and its business.
"It's also a chance to network with other successful investment club investors," said Suzanne M. Novelli, the fair's chairwoman.
Kenneth Janke, the president and chief executive officer of the NAIC, will give the keynote address during the fair.
The fair also will feature an area where computers have been set up to demonstrate different investment software offered by the NAIC.
Admission to the fair costs $20 per person for groups of six or more; or $25 individually. The admission price includes a continental breakfast and lunch.
The companies participating in the fair include: Liberty Financial Cos. Inc., Worthington Industries, GenCorp, CPAC Inc., Columbus McKinnon Corp., Public Service Co. of Colorado, Gibraltar Steel Corp., Astronics Corp., Taylor Devices Inc., American Precision Industries Inc., Houston Industries, BJ's Wholesale Club and Rand Capital Corp.
The Nasdaq Stock Market also will have a representative at the fair.
