EAT MORE . . . OFTEN

If you're an older person who has trouble losing weight, you might try having more but smaller daily family meals.

A U.S. Agriculture Department study found that older people cannot burn fat as efficiently as younger people when they get food in big doses -- which could explain middle-age spread. Eating smaller amounts more frequently than three times a day helps.
