The Greater Buffalo Partnership has appointed Valerie M. Gaydosh chief financial officer. She will serve as a member of the senior management team and oversee all financial operations for the Partnership and its largest subsidiary, the Greater Buffalo Convention and Visitor's Bureau. Most recently the reimbursement manager for The Park Associates of East Aurora, Ms. Gaydosh is a graduate of King's College.

American Allsafe Co., a Tonawanda manufacturer and distributor of eye, face and hearing protection, has appointed Jeffrey C. Millen to vice president of administration. He formerly was controller.

Harold C. Brown & Co., a Buffalo investment firm, has named Russell M. Giordano chief operations officer and general manager. He previously was field vice president with American Express Financial Planners in Wilmington, Del. Giordano is a graduate of Canisius College.

Sprint Personal Communication Services in Williamsville has made several appointments. William Wind has been named district director. Formerly the director of sales for Frontier Communications International in Rochester, he holds a bachelor's degree in social sciences from Buffalo State College and a master's degree in business administration from the University at Buffalo. David Brown has been appointed retail store manager of the company's new Cheektowaga location. He previously was store manager of Wilson's Leather Experts. Brown is a graduate of Stonybrook University and attended Niagara County Community College. Tracy Dybowski has been named direct sales manager. Previously district sales manager for Nokia Mobile Phones, he holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Fredonia State College. And, Colin J. McCarthy has been appointed indirect sales manager. He formerly was general manager of Blockbuster Video.

Niagara National Inc., an independent insurance agency in the AppleTree Business Park, has appointed Mary Pasquarella an administrative assistant in its special risk and life insurance department. She has 18 years experience in the life and health industry.

Lipsitz, Green, Fahringer, Roll, Salisbury & Cambria LLP announced that Venita A. Parker has joined the law firm as an associate attorney. Ms. Parker, who is also a registered nurse, received her law degree from the University at Buffalo Law School.

Ernst & Young, 1400 Key Tower, has named Michael T. Ding a partner. A certified public accountant, he has more than 16 years of tax experience. Ding holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from LeMoyne College.

Evans National Bank has appointed David F. Evans assistant vice president and branch manager of its Hamburg office.

Cochran, Cochran & Yale Inc., a Williamsville-based executive search firm, has appointed Sandra L. Scheffler as research director.

The Society of Plastics Engineers has named Mark Sporysz president. He is employed at Protective Closures Co. Other officers elected are: secretary, Carrie Piniarski; treasurer, John Zito; national representative, Norbert Schwab, education co-chairmen, Dr. Michael Ryan and Keith Wallace; membership chairman, Jerry Gorrell; program chairman, Patrick Meheran; newsletter editor, George Gallo; house chairman, Paul Schneeberger, and director, David Lazarski. Crowley Webb & Associates has named Jennifer L. McCormick a traffic assistant. Formerly an intern with Wolf Mansfield Bolling McCormick, she holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Canisius College.

Susan A. Benz and Sally J. Broad, attorneys with the law firm of Damon & Morey LLP, recently addressed the New York State Association of Health Care Providers' annual conference in Melville, N.Y.

W.P. Carey & Co. of New York City announced that Samantha Garbus, a Buffalo native, has been elected vice president, property management. Her new responsibilities will include lease compliance, restructuring of lease agreements and refinancing of mortgage loans.

Dr. David N. Gavin has been certified as a diplomat by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. The Niagara County native, who is a graduate of the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, is on the staff of Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, Fla.
