BAIRD FOUNDATION OFFERS 300 FREE SMOKE ALARMS

Three-hundred smoke alarms paid for by a grant from the Baird Foundation of Buffalo will be distributed in recognition of October as Fire Prevention Month.

Buffalo Fire Commissioner Cornelius Keane appeared at Monday's kickoff of the giveaway program involving the National SAFE Home Foundation, and Child and Family Services.

Eligible families with children who are clients of Child and Family Services will receive the smoke alarms. The goal of the program is to have a working smoke alarm in every child's bedroom.
