Amherst Systems Inc., a maker of test and training systems for military electronics, has acquired a Canadian maker of training equipment for an undisclosed sum.
The company, Omega Telemus Inc. of Kanata, Ont., was purchased from Omega Technologies of Canada Inc. It recently won an international contract for its "TACMET" tactical countermeasures trainer.
The companies are a good fit, with complementary technologies and strength in different geographic markets, Amherst Systems President Charles E. Dowdell said.
Amherst Systems has about 230 employees. Its major products are a radar simulator and an infrared scene simulator.
