J.C. Myles Sr. of Buffalo died Wednesday (Oct. 15, 1997) in Deaconess Center after a long illness. He was 77.
A native of Uniontown, Ala., Myles moved to Niagara Falls in 1945 and went to work for the former Vanadium Co. and the Power Vista. He also worked at General Motors' Chevrolet plant in the Town of Tonawanda from 1963 to 1986, when he retired. He was a member of the United Auto Workers.
Survivors include five sons, Raymond of Columbus, Ohio, Stanley of Buffalo and J.C. Jr., Michael and Freddie, all of Niagara Falls; five daughters, Barbara Myles and Gloria Myles, both of Buffalo, and Jackie Myles, Diane Myles and Patsy Thompson, all of Niagara Falls; a sister, Leola Myles Harrison of Buffalo; five brothers, Hampton of Buffalo, Lee C. of Bessemer, Ala., and Wilson, Arthur and James, all of Niagara Falls; 23 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Thomas T. Edwards Funeral Home, 995 Genesee St. Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton.[rrdda]
