An international concert featuring a Russian girls choir and steel drum band from Randolph will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Archbishop Walsh High School to benefit the school's development campaign. Admission is $5 and tickets are available at the school.
The concert will feature the Russian a cappella choir "Gloria," which is visiting the United States with tour stops in Buffalo, Boston, Long Island and Washington, D.C. The girls, ages 13 to 18, have received special music training from the Novaya Korcheva Center for Culture and Education in Konakovo, northwest of Moscow.
The Randolph Academy Union Free School Steel Band, featuring students age 12 to 18, visited Moscow this summer and performed a series of concerts at the International Children's Festival. The cultural exchange with both groups was made possible by the Frank Foundation International Child Assistance in Washington, D.C.
