NOTWITHSTANDING all the attention paid to Starbucks, Buffalo is a weak-coffee city, according to Gary R. Pilato, area general manager of Coffee Pause Co., which supplies and maintains workplace coffee rooms.

The corporate coffee service operates in 14 Northeastern cities, and Buffalo consumes more "High Mountain Blue," a relatively weak-tasting blend, than all the others combined, he said.

"It's a good cup of coffee, but it's not a strong cup of coffee," Pilato said.

Pilato was among the 100-plus exhibitors at last week's Buffalo Computer & Business Show.
