The graduate ceramic engineering programs at the School of Ceramic Engineering and Materials Science at the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University are ranked No. 1 by the prestigious Gourman Report, the school announced.

The report, which ranks graduate and professional programs internationally and in the United States, listed the University of Illinois at Urbana second; Ohio State University third; Rutgers fourth; Penn State fifth; Georgia Tech sixth; and the University of Washington at Seattle seventh.

"I am pleased that the Gourman Report rated our graduate programs so well," said James S. Reed, dean of the School of Ceramic Engineering and Materials Science.
