William Graser is chairman of an Octoberfest party for members of the Buffalo Yacht Club Oct. 25 in the clubhouse at the foot of Porter Avenue. Music will be by the Auslanders. Fred and Rose Beering are in charge of hors d'oeuvres and the German menu.

Maria Gerbracht, vice president of Buffalo & Erie County Botanical Gardens Society, will give an illustrated talk on "Programs and Special Events Held at the Gardens" at 1 p.m. Tuesday after a luncheon for Women's Association of First Presbyterian Church in the church. Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Orchard Park, will have a bazaar and baked goods sale Oct. 25 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. "Holy Hilarity" is the topic of a talk to be given by the Rev. Janice Mahle of First Baptist Church of Batavia at a luncheon for Bishop Scaife Guild of St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church at noon Oct. 25 in the church. Seton Guild of Buffalo will celebrate the 49th anniversary of its inception in October, 1938, with a "Forty Nine and Growing" reception for members and prospective members Oct. 29 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the home of Barbara Bartels in Eggertsville. Dorothy Suchan is chairwoman of a volunteer appreciation reception to be held by Friends of Western New York Public Broadcasting Oct. 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the WNED-TV studio. Tours of the building will be conducted by radio and television personnel. Buffalo Christian Women's Club will hear Peggy Craven, a "Teacher of the Year" from New Town, Pa., speak and sing at a luncheon Oct. 29 at 11:30 a.m. in Protocol Restaurant. Gifts from House of Lloyd will be displayed.

Southtowns Christian Women's Club will have a crafts and baked goods sale after a luncheon at 11 a.m. Oct. 30 in Ilio DiPaolo's restaurant, Blasdell. Ms. Craven will perform.
