NO NONSENSE WOMAN WINS BY A HEAD

No Nonsense Woman beat Must Be Victory by a head to win a $25,000 Breeders Crown elimination for 3-year-old filly trotters at Mohawk Raceway.

No Nonsense Woman, driven by Jim Doherty, raced a mile in 1:57 4/5 for her second victory in three races against Must Be Victory. No Nonsense Woman won the World Trotting Derby at DuQuoin, Ill., on Aug. 31 and Must Be Victory won the Hambletonian Oaks at the Meadowlands on Aug. 9.

Elegantimage, driven by Steve Condren, was third and Gironde Hanover, driven by Bob Roberts, was fourth.

No Nonsense Woman and Must Be Victory will meet once again next Friday in the $325,000 Breeders Crown 3-year-old filly trot final at Mohawk.

In the other elimination, Hall of Famer John Campbell notched his 33rd victory in a Breeders Crown event when he guided Lindy's New Lady to victory by a length in 1:58 3/5 . Favored Vernon Blue Chip, who led until the end with Wally Hennessey driving, was second.
