Michael J. Szudzik, a materials supervisor, died Friday (Oct. 17, 1997) in Buffalo General Hospital after an illness of 10 years.
Szudzik, 40, of Huth Road, Grand Island, was born in Buffalo and was a graduate of Bishop Turner High School. He had resided in North Tonawanda, Lewiston and for the past 10 years in Grand Island.
He worked as a materials supervisor for 14 years for the former SiHi Pumps, now Sterling Fluid Systems.
Szudzik was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Grand Island and the Grand Island Knights of Columbus, Mary Star of the Sea Council 4752.
He is survived by his wife, the former Siobhan O'Shea; a step-son, John Broughton of Grand Island; his parents, Norbert and Alice; and two sisters, Barbara Hinterberger and Sandra.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Stephen's Catholic Church, 2100 Baseline Road, after prayers at 9:15 in the Otto Redanz LaSalle Park Chapel, 2215 Military Road, Town of Niagara. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston.
