Iris M. Neuburger, a longtime surgical nurse at Children's Hospital and a member of the board of the Episcopal Home, died Wednesday (Oct. 15, 1997) in Buffalo General Hospital after a lingering illness. She was 82.
The former Iris M. Felsteed was born in Buffalo. She was a graduate of Hutchinson Technical High School, and received her nursing training at Children's Hospital.
Mrs. Neuburger also worked for a few years at Buffalo General Hospital. She was active with community organizations, serving as choir mother for the boys' choir at Trinity Episcopal Church on Main Street. She was a member of the volunteer group that worker at the Episcopal Home on Rhode Island Street.
Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Dr. Frederick K.; three sons, Dale of Indianapolis, Warren of Atlanta, Ga., and John; a sister, Joyce Woods; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be private.
