HEARING SET ON SCHOOL CONDITIONS

The state will hold a public hearing on the condition of school buildings from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 29 in Grover Cleveland High School, 110 14th St.

"In order to achieve the higher learning standards set by the Board of Regents, appropriate places for learning are critical," said Charles A. Szuberla Jr., a State Education Department official. "Schools that are unsafe, unhealthful or lacking in technology do not support higher educational standards."
