Five days of activities are planned as the Medaille College chapter of the Students Against Destructive Decisions, formerly Students Against Driving Drunk, observe National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week, which begins Sunday.
Highlight of the observance is an alcohol-free Celebration of Life Night program from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in the college's Multipurpose Room. Comedian Cal Tuohey will perform. There also will be food and an auction. Proceeds will benefit a scholarship fund.
Other programs include a panel discussion of drunken driving at noon Monday in the Alumni Room, Remembrance Day on Tuesday with students and staff wearing black in memory of victims of drunken driving, a Breathalyzer demonstration at noon Wednesday in the Campus Center's first floor lounge and a talk about SADD and drunken driving at 5 p.m. Thursday by Charles DiGaudio, director of counseling services and adviser for SADD.
