Christine F. Pfohl, 92, died Friday (Oct. 17, 1997) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a brief illness.
The former Christine Haseley was born in Lewiston. She commuted by train to attend Niagara Falls High School, and also graduated from Kelley Business Institute.
She worked on her family's fruit and dairy farm in Lewiston. She helped pack apples into barrels for shipment to England.
She married Sigmund J. Pfohl May 16, 1937. He died in 1968.
Mrs. Pfohl was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, and a charter member and past president of the Historical Society of North German Settlements in Western New York.
Survivors include a son, Edgar of Littleton, Colo.; a daughter, Sylvia Dobbertean of Niagara Falls; a sister, Elizabeth Milleville of Niagara Falls; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 6168 Walmore Road. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
