The Chautauqua County Legislature will finalize a mission statement for the Department of Public Works before any there is further discussion on a site for a new headquarters facility.
The public works committee Wednesday night reviewed a draft mission statement.
"We are looking at a lot of new statements," chairman Lance Spicer said. "But we asked them for a mission statement, and that will impact on where the site should be or whether we should have just one or more sites."
The committee also looked over a possible change in the county's bridge policy. In the wake of a recent dispute over funding a Town of Arkwright bridge replacement project, Spicer said the policy should include the possibility of towns getting state grants.
