John Garrie, 84, formerly of Niagara Street and a former production worker for a General Motors Corp. plant in St. Catharines, Ont., died Monday (Oct. 13, 1997) in Gardens at Manhattan Nursing Home, Buffalo, after a long illness.

He was born in Scotland and moved to , Ontario in 1921 before moving to St. Catharines, where he lived for many years. He moved to Niagara Falls in 1993.

Garrie was a production worker at the General Motors plant in St. Catharines for many years. He worked as a security guard and bus driver in Mesa, Ariz.

He was a member of the Masons.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia of Mesa; a son, Joseph; and a sister, Catherine Adams of Montreal.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Otto Redanz LaSalle Park Chapel, 2215 Military Road, Town of Niagara. Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston.
