CHEEKTOWAGA MAN CHARGED IN WILSON FARMS HOLDUP

A 37-year-old Cheektowaga man was charged with third-degree robbery Thursday evening, shortly after a holdup at the Wilson Farms store at 1055 Walden, Cheektowaga police said today.

Leslie Walker, 37, of 1122 Walden Ave., was charged by Officer Donald Strozyk.

Lt. Gary Grieco said a man walked into the store shortly after 6 p.m. and handed the clerk a note that said: "I'm robbing the store. I will shoot you. Give me the money." The clerk handed over about $100 from the register and the man ran out the door, but witnesses gave police a good description, Grieco said. During a search of the neighborhood, Strozyk saw a suspect matching the description getting into a vehicle and made the arrest.
