AERO CLUB DINNER TO MARK X-1'S 50TH ANNIVERSARY

About 500 people are expected to attend as the Aero Club of Buffalo celebrates the 50th anniversary of the breaking of the sound barrier by Bell Aircraft's X-1 plane with a dinner this evening in Samuel's Grande Manor, 8750 Main St., Clarence.

Guest speaker is Louis C. Rotundo, author of "Into the Unknown." Bell employees who will reunite for the occasion include Joe Marchese, an engineer on the original X-1 design team, and Joe Cannon, an X-1 pilot.
