U.S. AGENCY SENDS $1 MILLION TO BOSNIAN SERBS

The U.S. Agency for International Development donated $1 million Wednesday to a Bosnian Serb faction opposing war crimes suspect Radovan Karadzic.

The deal was signed by U.S. ambassador to Bosnia, Richard Kauzlarich, and Bosnian Serb President Biljana Plavsic, Karadzic's rival for power in the half of Bosnia controlled by Serbs. The money is for rebuilding roads, bridges and houses in the Banja Luka area, Plavsic's stronghold.
