Graydon B. Savage, a lifelong Town of Holland resident and retired Fisher-Price Toy Co. employee, died Tuesday (Oct. 14, 1997) in Our Lady of Victory Hospital, Lackawanna, after a long illness. He was 90.
Savage retired from Fisher-Price in 1972 after a 30-year career. He operated a band saw at the East Aurora company when its toys were made primarily of wood.
He attended grade school in Holland's one-room schoolhouse on Savage Road and was a member of the Holland United Methodist Church.
A 75-year member of the Holland Grange, Savage also was a member of Erie County Pomona Grange, New York State Grange and the National Grange. He also was a member of the Holland Historical Society, as well as Holland and Collins Senior Citizens, and Lodge 256, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Chaffee.
For several years, Savage was employed by the Holland Cemetery to do general upkeep and maintenance.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, the former Doris Miller of Holland; two daughters, Diane Doyle and Linda Savage, both of Holland; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday in Holland United Methodist Church, Partridge Road, Holland.
