Bertha M. Wood-ard, a past president of the Wilson Golden Agers and a former department head at Newfane Inter-Community Memorial Hospital, died Wednesday (Oct. 15, 1997) in the hospital, after a short illness.
Mrs. Woodard, 82, of Autumnview Drive, was born Bertha Nadelen in Sackets Harbor.
She began working in the Newfane hospital in 1961 and became head of the dietary department in 1968. She retired in 1975.
She was a member of the Exeley United Methodist Church in Wilson and a member and past president of the Wilson Golden Agers.
Mrs. Woodard's husband, Floyd A., died in 1977.
She is survived by three sons, Karl of Navarre, Fla., Gene of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Jesse; a daughter, Gail Wolcott of Barker; three brothers, Theodore and Ross, both of Watertown, and Robert of Brownville; and a sister, Anna Redden of Mannsville.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hamilton & Clark Funeral Home, 270 Young St. Burial will be in North Ridge Cemetery, Cambria.
