ARBITRATOR APPOINTED FOR LEWISTON POLICE PACT

Erie Lawson Jr. was appointed arbitrate a binding labor contract for town officials and the new town police officers' union, Lewiston Police Benevolent Association President Les Kachurek said.

Lawson was selected by union and town officials to review the failed negotiations which began early this year and went to impasse this summer and come with a binding agreement, Kachurek said. A meeting date with Lawson and town and union officials has yet to be set.
