Albright-Knox Art Gallery will receive $2 million for repairs if President Clinton approves an agencies appropriations bill that is on his desk awaiting action.
Congress late last week gave final approval to the bill containing money for the Buffalo Fine Arts Academy facility. The special funding was supported by Sens. Alfonse M. D'Amato, R-N.Y., and Daniel Patrick Moynihan, D-N.Y.
The original 1901 gallery and the 1962 modern addition are being repair, and the new money would go toward a climate control system for both buildings.
Clinton did not request the funds for the gallery, and the provision is subject to the president's new line-item veto powers.
