A Jamestown police officer was bitten and punched Sunday night when he tried to make an arrest during a domestic dispute call.

Officer Timothy Wright was treated in WCA hospital for a bite to his left hand and released.

Police said Wright answered the call at 17 Cross St. about 8 p.m. and tried to arrest Thomas A. Roth, 28, who lives in an upstairs apartment there, on a disorderly conduct charge. Roth struggled, then hit and bit the officer, police said.

Roth is charged with second-degree assault, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.
