Peter J. Galie and Ellen T. Kennedy, authorities on New York's constitution, will discuss the proposed constitutional convention during a public forum at 12:30 p.m. Sunday in the Church of the Nativity, 1530 Colvin Blvd., Kenmore.
Galie, who will speak in favor of a convention, is a professor of political science at Canisius College and author of the 1996 book, "Ordered Liberty: A Constitutional History of New York."
Ms. Kennedy, who will oppose holding a convention, is an associate professor of social work at Buffalo State College and president of Citizen Action of New York. She also has been a candidate for local and federal office.
New York State voters will have an opportunity on Election Day, Nov. 4, to decide whether to authorize a convention to consider changes in the constitution.
