Dameyune Craig, Auburn, threw for 355 yards, his school record sixth career 300-yard passing game and four touchdowns, matching a school record, as the Tigers defeated Louisiana Tech, 49-13.

Peyton Manning, Tennessee, passed for 343 yards and four TDs on 31-for-40 passing as the Volunteers beat No. 13 Georgia, 38-13.

Sedrick Irvin, Michigan State, rushed for a career-high 178 yards and two TDs and returned a punt 80 yards for a third score as the No. 11 Spartans beat Indiana, 38-6.

Ricky Williams, Texas, ran 40 times for 223 yards to set a school record and had two TDs as the Longhorns defeated Oklahoma, 27-24.

Curtis Enis, Penn State, ran for 211 yards and a fourth-quarter TD as the Nittany Lions rallied for a 31-27 victory over Ohio State.

Bill Borchert, Mount Union, broke the NCAA Division III record for career TD passes as he threw six, which tied the school single-game record, in a 48-7 win over Heidelberg. Borchert, who was 22 for 29 for 270 yards, has 116 career TD passes.

Dwayne Harris, Toledo, rushed for 203 yards and two TDs as the Rockets defeated Central Michigan, 41-10.

Stepping up

Tennessee freshman Jamal Lewis, in his second career start, gained 232 yards in the ninth-ranked Volunteers' 38-13 win over No. 13 Georgia. Lewis had nine carries of more than 10 yards and four of more than 30. He carried 22 times overall, averaging 10.5 yards a carry.

Stingy

Michigan, which beat Northwestern, 23-6, hasn't allowed a point in the fourth quarter this season.

Strong in defeat

Ohio State's Joe Germaine, who replaced Stanley Jackson on the first play of the second quarter, completed 29 of 43 passes for 378 yards and two TDs in the Buckeyes' 31-27 loss to Penn State. . . . Oklahoma's De'Mond Parker had 291 yards rushing to set a school record and added three TDs in the Sooners' 27-24 loss to Texas. . . . Kentucky's Tim Couch set school records for passing yards (2,078) and TDs (23) in a season by throwing for 294 yards and two TDs in the Wildcats' 38-24 loss to South Carolina.

Slide stopped

Notre Dame's Allen Rossum scored on a 93-yard kickoff return to start the game as the Fighting Irish snapped a four-game losing streak, its longest in 34 years, beating Pittsburgh, 45-21.

Still losing

Alcorn State defeated Prairie View, 24-9, to extend the Panthers' NCAA-record losing streak to 73 games.

Scoring

Texas A&M's Sirr Parker scored on an 80-yard run and a 78-yard kickoff return as the Aggies defeated Iowa State, 56-17, the Cyclones' 13th straight loss, the longest current losing streak in Division I-A.
