3 HOSPITALIZED IN POMFRET CRASH

Three people remain hospitalized after a three-vehicle crash on Route 60 in the Town of Pomfret Saturday night.

Dawn M. Jones, 19, of Cassadaga and John Hines, 78, of Hamburg are both in fair condition in Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo. Hines' passenger, Myrna Johnson, 70, of Hamburg, is in fair condition in St. Vincent Health Center, Erie, Pa.

Chautauqua County sheriff's officers said Ms. Jones was southbound at 11:30 p.m. when her car crossed into the other lane and ran head-on into the Hines car. A third car, driven by Carmen N. Leon, 29, of Jamestown, swerved to try to avoid the collision, but her car was struck by Jones' car.

Hines was flown to the Buffalo hospital by Mercyflight. Ms. Jones was transported there by Starflight helicopter, and Ms. Johnson was taken to Erie by Lifestar. Ms. Leon and her passenger were not hurt.
