A man dressed like Rambo was arrested early Saturday while hiding near a Town of Hamburg tavern where an employee was shot twice with a pellet pistol, police said.

Ronald Benkleman, 41, of Chapman Parkway, Hamburg, was taken into custody at about 1 a.m. in a woods near Brierwood Country Club, police said. He was charged with second-degree assault.

Police said they were called to Callahan's Tavern on Southwestern Boulevard after someone fired pellets at a tavern employee, causing minor cuts and bruises. A short time later, a witness spotted a man dressed like Rambo hiding in the woods, according to Officers Lindsay Dunne and Mark Hojsan.

Benkleman had been ejected from the bar recently and apparently was attempting to retaliate, the officers said.

Police confiscated pellets and gas cartridges used in a pellet handgun.
