A man who evaded arrest for a short while Friday by running over roofs from a burglary scene was hit with an added charge of robbery on Saturday.
Daniel Paulk, 27, no address available, was charged with robbery for allegedly taking about $250 from the Hometown Market, 1563 Pierce Ave., last week, Detectives John Olander and William Smith said.
He was initially arrested Friday when a resident in the 600 block of 26th Street saw him enter a home, and officers were called.
He avoided arrest by running across two front porch roofs and the roof of Cacemi Furniture but was caught after he was spotted entering a garage, police said.
He was charged with second- and third-degree burglary and fourth-degree grand larceny for allegedly taking jewelry from the 26th Street home. More than $3,300 in jewelry was recovered, including a diamond ring.
