STATE HAS TOO MUCH POWER

"Pataki, Bruno and Silver agree to divvy up aid" was the headline on an article that appeared in The News. It informed the people of New York State that their governor and the Legislature's two top leaders were going to decide how to split up $425 million of the taxpayers' money.

This article tells us three very important things: First, we need a constitutional convention; second, the leadership in Albany has too much power; and third, if the lawmakers have this much money to "divvy up," then we are certainly paying way too much in taxes.
