Time is running short for Gov. Pataki, County Executive Gorski and Mayor Masiello to get off their duffs and do something to retain an established company like Graphic Controls on the city tax rolls.
If half as much effort was put into this project as there was in accommodating Ralph Wilson and the Bills, Graphic Controls would be assured of staying in Buffalo and saving the 600-plus jobs that the people of this area so desperately need.
Politicians have to quit toying with token concessions and give the company a viable offer to help sustain its effort to stay here. Their needs must be addressed so they can remain competitive against out-of-state and foreign markets.
Buffalo and New York State cannot afford to lose any more skilled labor. What future does our city hold for our next generation?
