Wilbur D. "Bill" Harrod, 88, of King Street, a retired lineman for Niagara Mohawk Power Corp., died Wednesday (Oct. 8, 1997) in Newfane Inter-Community Memorial Hospital.

A native of Barker, he was a lifelong Newfane and Barker-area resident. Before his retirement, he worked for the utility for more than 40 years.

He was a member of St. Bridget's Catholic Church.

His wife, the former Beatrice Schrader, died in 1988.

Survivors include a son, Donald of Cookeville, Tenn.; a daughter, Beth Ann Dickinson; a sister, Marion Hogan of Lockport; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Bridget's Church, Ewings Road. Burial will be in North Ridge Cemetery, Cambria.
