A man accused of a gunpoint robbery late Thursday afternoon outside the Main Place Mall was arrested by Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority police.
The victim told police a man approached him, repeatedly demanded his money, and stuck a gun in his chest. The victim surrendered $18 and watched as the robber walked into the mall.
The victim followed, according to police reports, and alerted a mall security officer. Both continued to follow the man as he left the mall and walked along Main Street.
The suspect was taken into custody in the 100 block of Ellicott Street by Transit Officer Joseph Amoia. A loaded .25-caliber handgun was recovered, police said.
Louis Brindisi, 41, of Warren Avenue was charged with robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.
