BEANIE BONANZA -- Looking for an original Beanie Baby? Try the Variety Club of Buffalo's Beanie Weenie Roast from noon to 10 p.m. Monday in the Haunted Catacombs in Dick's Plaza, 3637 Union Road, Cheektowaga.
For a $15 donation, visitors get a tour of the catacombs, an original Beanie Baby and unlimited hot dogs and soft drinks. Hundreds of current and retired Beanie Babies also will be on sale. Proceed benefit the Variety Club Telethon.
PICK A PUMPKIN and help teens get jobs Monday through Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Gateway-Longview, a service agency for troubled children, youth and families at 6350 Main St., Amherst. Proceeds benefit the agency's Work Appreciation for Youth Program, which teaches teens how to find and keep a job. Teen employees of the program will be selling those pumpkins. . . .
HALLOWEEN WITHOUT COSTUMES? Now that's scary. That's why the Junior League of Buffalo is making sure that needy children have proper outfits for the holiday. They will collect new and used Halloween costumes in good condition Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. in the Walden Galleria, Cheektowaga. Costumes will be donated to the King Urban Life Center and Children's Hospital.

TALK ABOUT TRADITION -- The I.J. Paderewski Singing Society will hold its 58th anniversary concert and ball Sunday at 8 p.m. in the Sheraton Buffalo Airport Hotel, 2040 Walden Ave., Cheektowaga. The concert comes first and will feature solo violinist Gregory Docenko and solo pianist Ivan Docenko. The dancing starts at 9:30 when Art Kubera's Orchestra takes the stage.
