Buffalo's "brownfields" redevelopment sites will be discussed by geologists, policy-makers, developers and others during a daylong symposium Oct. 22 in the Buffalo Hilton.

Held by the Buffalo Association of Professional Geologists and the New York State Council of Professional Geologists, the symposium will cover case histories, legal and regulatory aspects, insurance liability and other factors in the effort to reclaim abandoned industrial sites for commercial reuse.

Mayor Masiello will deliver the keynote address as the "Partnership in Urban Redevelopment" program opens at 9 a.m. after registration.

The event is designed for municipal leaders, commercial developers, environmental professionals and lawyers involved in the brownfields process.
