A Monroe County man was tracked down Thursday after crashing a stolen car into a tree, injuring a 14-year-old female passenger, Sheriff's Deputy David S. Broderick Jr. said.
Michael S. Adams, 20, of Greece, was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and held on $1,000 bail. He fled the scene of the about 2:35 p.m. accident at Creek and Blairville roads.
Broderick said Adams, driving a car reported stolen in Greece, speeded up when he saw the patrol car, and lost control on a curve, striking the tree.
His passenger, Diane Lewis, 14, of the Rochester area, was in the Erie County Medical Center with a broken jaw and a possible broken shoulder, Broderick said.
Lewiston Officer Anthony Soluri said he found Adams about 4:30 p.m. at a relative's house on Creek Road.
